Формула:
V2 / Ved
(второй столбик неправильных глаголов или окончание -ed)

Когда используем Past Simple?

1. Факт в прошлом
   I visited London last year.

2. Последовательность действий
   He came home, took a shower and went to bed.

3. Завершённые действия
   She cooked dinner yesterday.

yesterday, last year, ago, in 2010, then, when

2. Past Continuous — действие было в процессе

Формула:
was/were + V-ing

Когда используем Past Continuous?

1. Действие длилось в определённый момент прошлого
   At 6 pm I was doing my homework.

2. Два действия шли параллельно
   She was singing while he was playing the piano.

3. Действие в процессе прервано другим
   I was walking home when it started to rain.

3. Past Perfect — действие произошло раньше другого прошлого события

Формула:
had + V3

Past Perfect показывает, какое действие произошло самым первым, ещё до другого действия в прошлом.

Когда используем Past Perfect?

1. Действие произошло до другого прошедшего события
   When we arrived, the film had already started.

2. Причина в прошлом
   She was tired because she had worked all day.

3. Опыт до определённого момента в прошлом
   He had never seen the sea before that trip.
